Spain's authorities continue to lose the battle against contaminated water.

The supply of clean, toxin-free water is now a private matter!

As early as 2022, the EU Commission had sued Spain because requirements dating back to 1991 were not being met. Brussels repeatedly warned of eutrophication, that is, excessive algae growth, due to nitrates, which nearly suffocates marine life.
In 1986, Spain joined the EU. In the course of this, the country received numerous subsidies to improve water infrastructure. Spain's water must therefore comply with drinking water supply directives. To ensure this, Spanish water, as in other countries, is chemically treated. However, Spanish authorities have not been able to get the problem under control so far. In 2024, therefore, another rebuke from Europe came, this time from the European Court of Justice.

Spain's population is dependent on purchasing private water filters not only due to high nitrate contamination, but also due to particular geographical and climatic circumstances:

🇪🇸 Varying raw water quality and higher temperatures that promote microorganism growth necessitate more intensive treatment than in other countries. This includes more frequent and higher dosages of chlorine and other disinfectants by the authorities, especially in summer.

🇪🇸 In coastal regions, water can additionally be more highly contaminated with minerals, which not only affects the taste but can also bring with it all the health burdens as described by many experts in the truuinfochannel.

Chlorine and other disinfectants should be as absent from clean, toxin-free drinking water as nitrates, microorganisms, pharmaceuticals, etc.

Spaniards take the problem into their own hands

In Spain, there is a growing initiative of people who provide valuable information on the topic of clean, toxin-free water and health, and even offer instant analyses of their own drinking water brought from home.
If you are interested in this topic, you can find out by specifying your phone number and postal code via email to truu@gmx.net whether such events are already being offered in your area. Participation is usually free of charge.
